All I need is a chance!Hello, my work!
Well, the “one week holiday” is over now, and you are going back to the work! Reviewing the last couple of days, nothing was special. Just like those weekends, tasteless and boring! Is that your real life? And is that what you truly pursuit?
Absolutely not! You know what? There are several things restricting you and you cannot move freely. That’s why you feel you down. As you are young and you need to pay. Paying for the future, and paying for the wonderful life! I believe when you get the finally wealth freedom, you’ll know what you really want. And that’s also the reason you fighting everyday.
So… hello, my work! I am coming, god bless!
European Horizon I (Body Warm-up Trip to Inverness)Before the trip to Europe, I got a chance to go to the deep highland alone, exploring its natural beauty, and warming my body up by the way. Highlights of this trip:
The unknown white castle I Passed by: Every time when people talk about Scottish Castle, some famous ones like Edinburgh Castle and Stirling Castle are always mentioned because of their important defence function and their well-know stories in history. These castles may be worth viewing, but I think they cannot be considered as “beautiful”. In this trip, I met the most beautiful castle I had seen in Scotland. When the bus was passing Perth, a beautiful white castle appeared among trees and mountain and woke me up from sleepy. Different from the castle we usually see, this castle was white colored. Without the interruption by tourists, she sleep in there quietly and calmly. After enquiring the lady sitting behind me, I got the name: Blair Castle. Inverness—nice city Inverness is capital of the highland, tourism is the main industry of this city due to its beautiful environment and famous places around it, which remind me one similar city in China--“Bei Dai He”. But compared to “BDH”, the tourism system in Inverness is much more developed. The information office in the city centre is very helpful, in which you can find all the information about tours in Inverness and they also give you the best recommendation for your trip. Inverness is a quite and small city, with River Ness lying through. After having dinner in a restaurant on the river bank, I walked along this river, climbing to a high point and getting a overview of Inverness: what a attractive city! Night in student accommodation: Spent a night in a student hotel at the foot of Inverness castle, and quite enjoy the time staying with backpackers. I like their lifestyles, they are so cool! This hotel is very small, usually 6-12 person sharing one room, but making you feel like home. In the kitchen, they provide all the cookers for you, which save you budget without breaking the bank. The living room is a amazing place, which give people a wonderful place for short-term relax after a tired traveling day. Besides several comfortable sofas, you can find novels, magazines, newspapers, internet and many small games (like chess, cards and other games I have never seen). They also provide some music instruments: guitar, electric-piano and small drum, and so on. Every backpackers is “professional” guitar players, who impressed me a lot. The wall of living and dinning room are stuck with hundreds of “papers”: including all the information about tours in Inverness and other places in Highland, the timetable of the bus and train, the introduction of Inverness and loch Ness’s history, maps and information about hiring bike and car, pictures and notes, and even currencies from different countries left by previous people from all over world. After a tired traveling day, sitting in the comfortable sofa with a cup of free hot chocolate, listening the exotic music played by backpackers, talking with the people from all over the world and enjoying their stories, or you can just read the novels and newspapers quietly, or play games with your friends. It’s amazing, you will love it! Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle Look at what I found in Loch Ness! (see picture” loch ness") The weather that day was cloudy and raining a little bit, but perfect for monster viewing. I enjoyed a cruise ferrying along the River Ness to Loch Ness. On the boat, you can view the beautiful views on both sides of the river, listening the introduction of Scottish history and their traditional music from the loud speaker. The captain got a sense of humor, who eased the depressed atmosphere for monster exploring. Everything in Scotland could be connected with castle, loch Ness is not a exception as well. Urquhart Castle on the bank of Loch Ness is another most important defense castle following with the Edinburgh and Stirling Castle. It also a very good place for viewing the Loch Ness. Most part of this castle was ruined and you could not imagine how strong it was, but it did help you recall the story of Jacobite. Culloden Battlefield and Fort Gorge—a vivid history lesson: Culloden records the last war on mainland Britain, which’s a civil war between the Jacobites lead by the “Bonnie Prince Charles” who trying to restore the Stuart Family and the “butcher Duck of Cumberland” representing British government. But you cannot say that it is a war between Scots and English, because both of this two parts were supported by Clans from Scotland and England, or some people even from the same clan but fought for different parts and different reasons. Walking on the battlefield, you can feel how bloody this war was. After the Culloden battle, Hanoverian King George II decided to build Fort George to against Jacobites’ unrest. The out-looking of Fort George is splendid, but it has never been in military used, due to the safety in the following year on mainland Britain. So it has ever been changed to be Army Training Camp or National prison. People who like military should go there, where you can find the interesting Seafield collection and the army museum.
Above all, in my opinion, the truly meaning of traveling is not just enjoy the views or the photos to prove you have been there, instead, more importantly, to experience the culture, to meet new friends, to explore and learn the local history. From this process you build up your knowledge and widen your view and horizon. That is why people say:“读万卷书,行万里路”. Some feelingsHaven’t filled up this Blog for a long time, cumulated several novel feelings these days and would like to share them with my friends: 1. I didn’t expect to get much from my job in the Chinese Supermarket, but it does benefit me a lot. Besides the wages for my living and probably the stronger muscle, the job teaches me many thing which I could not get from the textbooks. Maybe that is so called “experience”. After working at the lowest level of the society, I feel stable and calm, and this will help me face the difficulties in the future. Some rules I learn from the job are also quite valuable: In the work, you need to respect your all your colleagues, respect their work and opinion; every simple-looking jobs has it special rule behind, and sometimes it is far more difficult than you thought. 2. Never, never, never judge a person without knowing him. 3. It’s easy to find others’ weakness, but hard to see ourselves clearly. Actually, we have many weakness, which we just don’t realize. For example, we always try to find excuses for our mistakes and indolence, which spoil us all the time. So, most of time, we are defeated by myself, rather than environment or someone else. To solve it, we need to always compare us with others, trying to give us a objective view and adequate position. 4. We have to face different “choice questions” in our daily lives. Some of them are quite easy or unimportant, such as choosing noodles or rice in your dinner, white or yellow for your shirt, by bike or on foot to the Uni. While some are crucial, like the Major you select can effect your career in future or even rest of your life. We don’t need to waste of our time and energy on the small questions, instead of making efforts to those “big choices”. 5. Whatever you do, do not be hurried. Take your time and step by step. Try to make everything done, and don’t expect to avoid any difficulties by using your “smart”, which will always wait you at some point in the future. 6. I am sooooooooo lucky to have such supportive parents. They are my guides, who guide me to the right direction when I’m lost; They are my advisers, who give me most helpful advices when I’m confused; They are my parents, who build such a warm family for me; They are also my friends, who talk and listen to me when I feel alone. Overall, they are the best parents in the world. I don’t know how to say thanks to them, the only thing I can do now is to exploit my energy to maximum and try to be the person they are proud of. Yes, I will!
Those feelings above are uncorrelated with each other, which I got from different periods and experiences. Some of them may sounds a little bit nonsense, but they are all my feeling from the bottom of heart, so I put them on my space as my motto. At last, just want to say some “thanks”: thanks for my parents; thanks for the experience; and thanks for all the suffering which make me who I am! |
